Youth Heroes' Award

This international award recognises youth and young adults who contribute to creating a culture of peace and sustainable development, displaying exemplary public-mindedness and bringing a positive, lasting impact on their community and/ or broader society. 

Candidates for the award are selected globally every year through nomination by YSP or a third party. 2020 marks the first year of this annual award.

Who is eligible to receive the award?

For IAYSP in Europe and the Middle East, candidates must be:  

  • A resident of a country in Europe or Middle East 
  • Aged 16 to 30 years old 
  • Contributing to solving social problems, promoting activities to support the UN’s SDGs or achieving substantial results through service 

What is the process?

After submitting a nominee through the application form, nominees will be evaluated by a committee. Nominees are evaluated by a committee and notified of the results within a week following the nomination deadline. A maximum of two nominees per country can be chosen to receive the Youth Heroes’ Award. They will receive a medal and certificate and be publicly recognized during a S!NERGY or other IAYSP event. Awardees will also have the opportunity to be a judge for future S!NERGY events.

What is the deadline to submit my nomination for someone?

The deadline for submitting the 2024 Youth Heroes’ Award nominations is September 13, 2024. Contact your national chapter to submit your nomination.
