The International Association of Youth and Students for Peace (IAYSP) is dedicated to empowering youth as essential contributors to sustainable development, with a strong focus on advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). IAYSP’s initiatives, including programs like Peace Designer and Synergy, provide platforms for young people to engage in global dialogues, develop leadership skills, and collaborate on projects that address pressing social, environmental, and peacebuilding challenges. Almost all IAYSP projects target specific SDGs, ensuring that youth-driven solutions are central to the pursuit of a more equitable and sustainable world.
IAYSP actively participates in UN conferences, youth forums, and high-level dialogues, ensuring that youth voices are integrated into decision-making processes. Whether attending in person or virtually, young people from diverse backgrounds are provided with opportunities to share their perspectives, propose solutions, and connect with global leaders. This involvement aligns with ECOSOC’s mission to promote social progress and sustainable development, demonstrating the importance of youth engagement in shaping global policies and actions.
As a UN-accredited organization, IAYSP commemorates significant occasions such as International Youth Day, the International Day of Peace, and International Volunteer Day through its global chapters. In recognition of its commitment to advancing the UN’s objectives, IAYSP was granted Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) in 2022. This status enables IAYSP to contribute expertise, participate in UN meetings, and advocate for policies that empower youth to lead positive change and advance the SDGs in their communities.
