Youth Heroes’ Awards
This international award is given to exceptional youth and young adults around the world who have contributed to creating a global culture of peace and sustainable development through their projects and have shown exemplary public- mindedness to bring a positive, lasting impact on their community and/or broader society.
Candidates for the award are chosen from multiple nations every year through nomination and must be submitted by someone other than themselves. 2020 marks the first year for giving this annual award.
The deadline for submitting the 2021 Youth Heroes’ Award nominations is December 1, 2021.
Who is Eligible to Receive the Award?
For IAYSP in the United States, candidates must be:
A resident of the United States.
Age 13 to 39 years old
A young person who has contributed to solving social problems, promoted activities to support the UN’s SDGs, or achieved some substantial results through service. The candidate should have good character and have a public mind towards their nation and the world, while promoting youth activities.
What is the Process?
After submitting a nominee through the application form, nominees will be evaluated by a committee. Nominees will be notified of the results within a week after the nomination deadline. Two nominees from the United States will be chosen to receive the Youth Heroes’ Award. They will receive a medal and certificate along with being publicly recognized during a S!NERGY event or other IAYSP event hosted at the end of the year. Awardees will also have the opportunity to be a judge for future S!NERGY events and attend IAYSP’s Global Youth gathering in South Korea in February of the following year (event schedules are subject to change based on Covid-19 developments).
