On August 28, 2021, for the tenth week in a row, Shine City Project returned to volunteer at the Las Vegas Rescue Mission. For that Saturday, five volunteers met in the kitchen to help with the morning preparation work. After a couple hours of cutting strawberries and onions to fill the metal food bins, the volunteers also helped with serving lunch for the residents of the Mission. On the menu was tasty meatloaf and mashed potatoes. The group finished the service work at the Mission and ended the day with their favorite ritual of visiting the Harrison House and got to share some delicious meatloaf and mashed potatoes with the Historic site’s Executive Director, Katherine Duncan.
