On September 25, 2021, in honor of National Public Lands Day, Shine City Project volunteered with Project GREEN: Friends of Pittman Wash. The five volunteers helped to remove tamarisk and other vegetation along the storm runoff. Equipped with only one handsaw and several other tools, they did their best with what they had and cleared out much of the unwanted vegetation. They enjoyed their time being outdoors helping with the project and got to see a couple roadrunners as well.
