On November 13, 2021, Shine City Project once again helped out at Wetlands Park. The five Shine City Project volunteers joined others in helping to put in native plants in an area of the nature preserve. A couple of the plants that were planted were desert globemallow, a flowering shrub that is common in the Mojave desert, and saltgrass, a grass that grows in salty soil conditions at Wetlands Park. After removing the plants from their pots and putting them into their respective holes, wire cages were placed around the plants to help prevent animals such as rabbits from eating them. This will help ensure their growth and survival.
