On June 26, 2021 volunteers from International Association of Youth and Students for Peace (IAYSP) joined other volunteers once again at HealthBarn’s Healing Meals situated in Hawthorne, NJ. Healing Meals provides healthy meals for families with children undergoing treatment for cancer, serious blood disorders and sickle cell anemia, and recently added senior in need to the care list. The experience was meaningful, especially because those preparing the meals came from basically three generational ages. Regardless of the age difference, the shared activity created a strong sense of working for a common cause.
Intergenerational Volunteering with Healing Meals
