On January 8, 2022, Shine City Project volunteered at Sunrise Trailhead. Working with both Clark County Wetlands Park and Get Outdoors Nevada staff, the volunteers helped to pick up litter in the area. There were eight volunteers representing Shine City Project. The area along the road leading to the trail was heavily littered with glass bottles, food packaging, and other items. In one part, the ground was covered in a sea of broken glass, and in another part there was a large pile of wire casings. In the end, with the hard work of all the volunteers who came to help, two large dumpsters were filled. It took a lot of effort and volunteers to help clean up the area, and hopefully more can be done to help restore the beauty of the trailhead.
