On April 8, 2023, Shine City Project cleaned up at Wetlands Park! Our Shine City Project team of eight joined other volunteers in helping to pick up litter along a dirt road near Sunrise Trailhead. Surprisingly, we found an overwhelming amount of broken glass, nails, and piles of broken ceramic tiles. With the broken ceramic tiles being heavy and often in large pieces, we had to make frequent trips carrying the tiles from the cleanup area to the dumpster. It was a lot of work, but with all the volunteers who were present, one large dumpster was filled with all the trash that we collected!
