On February 26, 2022, Shine City Project volunteered at Pittman Wash. Working with Project GREEN: Friends of Pittman Wash, the Shine City Project volunteers helped to remove plants from the wash, particularly palms and tamarisk. They cut away these plants using small hand saws. Afterward, they moved these plants to the side to a more accessible location for further removal. They had seven volunteers representing Shine City Project with one joining for the first time. Overall, it was hard work, but a sense of accomplishment was felt each time they were able to finally cut through a difficult palm or tamarisk. Great job, Shine City Project!
